We’ve chosen to be purposeful about what sustainability should look like at Riyze™. As we thought about your threads, we reimagined ours and chose 100% organic cotton sewing thread to sew our fabrics together. The zippers recycled from ocean bound plastics, buttons made from the seed of palms trees from South America, and fabric from recycled bottles makes for a good look we all can celebrate in our quest for a sustainable future.

How we got here
My journey began during the pandemic of 2020 when my clothing preferences shifted towards comfort and style to cope with the endless days of remote work and isolation. This change led me to delve deeper into the troubling history of the clothing industry. I discovered devastating issues, from factory collapses causing unnecessary loss of life to the exploitation of workers through subpar wages driven by fast fashion. I couldn’t ignore these harsh realities. Our research revealed the fashion industry’s ongoing contributions to environmental degradation, including the overwhelming presence of fast fashion in landfills and the heavy reliance on synthetic plastics, which contribute significantly to greenhouse gases, global warming, and climate change.
The Origins of Earth-First Clothing
We understood the paradox of looking as good as you feel and how that’s impossible in the absence of environmental consciousness. We believe our community has a conscious and is actively embarking on the journey of recycled, reuse, and conserving the resources offered from this beautiful land we call earth.
